I See Dead People. Does Anyone Else?

I haven't blogged in almost a month. I can't imagine I have any readers left at this point, considering how little I've given them lately. It's okay, I guess, since I have a book deadline to meet, a job to hold down and a family to take care of. We're aiming for July 14 as a due date, so I spend every second I have trying to get this done.

In addition, this morning I woke up sick with the stomach flu, and haven't been able to get out of bed all day. Blogging was not particularly on my agenda. But I'm sick with more than the stomach flu.

It hurt my heart to watch the Dems fold today. We elected them last November on one issue - get us out of the war. Nancy Pelosi promised "No more blank check for Bush!"

What happened today? Blank check for Bush.

My problem is, I see dead people.

Every single day, I see dead people, and read about dead people, and think about dead people. With each passing day, I see more dead people. Dead Americans. Dead Iraqis. Dead soldiers. Dead bystanders. Dead women. Dead children.

Does anyone else?

If they do, I wish they'd act like it.

I'll tell you who doesn't see dead people, though. The Kowboy Koward of Krawford. Swingin' Dick. Halliburton. Blackwater.

What exactly do they see when they look in the mirror? Probably not much. A vampire has no reflection.

Oh, there you are. get well soon.

Most americans seem unable to see dead people unless they are right in the front yard. This war just doesn't seem real to enough of us. To what should we attribute that pathological attenuation of sympathy?

I don't know...but as long as that is how we allow ourselves to be led, we should be picking our leaders more carefully.

A teaspoon of ginger prevents nausea and motion sickness. Hope this helps.

How's about Daddy and the Twins donning uniforms to fight for Iraqi freedom? Shouldn't one lead by example?

Hope that you feel better soon; you've been missed!

I say we send Dick and Lynne and Mary and Heather and their new little baby boy to drive around Baghdad reporting on the progress of the surge.

Excellent suggestions, Yoga and Pursey. I think we should send every member of the Administration and their happy families to document the great progress being made.
